Placements24 is seeking a Research Scientist specialized in Analytical Chemistry for a hybrid role in Paarl. You will develop, validate, and apply analytical methods to support R&D activities and ensure product quality.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. or Master’s in Analytical Chemistry with at least 3 years of hands-on method development experience and strong data interpretation skills. You will maintain instrumentation and stay updated on analytical techniques.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in analytical method development and validation.
• Proficiency with a variety of analytical instrumentation and software.
• Strong understanding of chemical principles and their application in analysis.
• Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, NMR, and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine and non-routine analyses on raw materials, intermediates, and final products.
• Interpret complex analytical data, troubleshoot method issues, and document findings comprehensively.
• Collaborate with R&D chemists and formulators to provide critical analytical support for project goals.
• Maintain analytical instrumentation, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Stay current with advancements in analytical chemistry instrumentation and methodologies.
