Job summary

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is offering a paid internship in the Programs Office, Revitalization Permanent Exhibition. The role reports to the Lead Researcher and focuses on researching topics for the new permanent exhibition opening in 2029.

The position involves translating German sources and identifying assets across in-house and international archives. Hybrid work arrangement with 20–30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an MA or PhD program in Museum Studies, Holocaust or Jewish Studies, History, or a related field in the humanities.
• Experience with Holocaust Studies.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• German language proficiency (reading and translating into English).

Responsibilities

• As assigned by the PE-R Lead Researcher.
• Search for exhibition assets for media programs (photos and film clips) in in-house collection and international repositories.
• Provide translations of German primary sources and support research efforts in German archives.
• Create bibliographies and short briefs on topics related to the exhibition consulting the latest international scholarship.
• Enter research results in exhibition management database.
