Wayne State University in Detroit is seeking an experienced Research Financial Administrator for the Division of Research & Innovation to oversee financial planning and post-award administration.

You will monitor budgets across funds, prepare forecasts and analyses, support grant proposals, and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements. The role reports to the Associate Director, Finance.

Hybrid work arrangement with collaboration across faculties and research offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
• Experience in research administration or sponsored programs preferred.
• Proficient with Excel, data analysis, and financial projection reporting.
• Knowledge of grant and contract administration is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Manage and monitor unit budgets across multiple fund types in line with policies and sponsor requirements.
• Provide financial reporting, forecasting, and analytical support for leadership and PIs.
• Oversee commitments, cost-sharing, and compliance tracking for DORI.
• Assist in grant proposals, contracts budgeting, and submission timelines.
• Reconcile HR system data with financial management systems and prepare expense projections.
