Job summary

MEF Associates in Alexandria, Virginia is seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to quantitative research and data analysis across social policy projects.

You will collaborate on evaluations addressing employment, welfare, child well-being, and early education, with opportunities to assist with surveys, literature reviews, fieldwork, and reporting while growing your research skills in a supportive, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a social science or related field with a strong academic record.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Effective project management and ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to details and accuracy.
• Relationship-driven, collaborative communicator with others.
• Experience in qualitative or quantitative research and documentation; public or social policy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manipulating data and assisting in data analysis using Excel and/or statistical packages (e.g., Stata, R).
• Conducting literature reviews.
• Assisting with field research including development of protocols, organizing meetings and site visits, note taking, and preparing transcripts/summaries.
• Contributing to reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Assisting with the design and implementation of surveys and focus groups.
• Contributing to the company website, marketing, and proposal development.
• Other duties as assigned.
