Job summary

UC San Diego seeks a seasoned Research Administrator 3 in La Jolla, CA, to manage complex proposals, awards and transactions. You will ensure sponsor compliance, perform budgeting and financial reporting, and coordinate across multiple investigators and sub-awards.

The role requires deep knowledge of federal and non-federal sponsor guidelines, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Hybrid schedule available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Thorough knowledge of federal and sponsor compliance requirements.
• Experience in pre- and post-award contract and grant administration.
• Ability to analyze complex proposals, budgets and reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and oversee proposals, awards and related transactions.
• Monitor contracts and grants for compliance with sponsor terms and institutional policies.
• Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, reports and closeouts.
• Coordinate with investigators, departments and sponsors for multi-investigator projects.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and ensure accurate record-keeping.
