Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking an Insurance Specialist I to join the Texas Oncology team in a full-time hybrid remote role. The position supports our Central Business Office and requires commuting to the office as needed.

Roles can be Level 1, 2, or Sr depending on experience. Ideal candidates will handle eligibility verification, referrals, and authorization processes, ensuring compliant and timely processing while upholding HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with 0–2 years in front desk, registrations, healthcare benefits or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Hybrid remote work possible with daily onsite presence as needed.

Responsibilities

• Researches and resolves eligibility variances via web research or direct contact with patients.
• Coordinates referrals and retro-authorizations when applicable.
• Checks and updates insurance coverage information in the PMS.
• Identifies uninsured patients and refers to patient benefits representative.
• Documents payor conversations in the PMS and follows up as needed.
• Adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
