Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking an Insurance Authorization Specialist to support Texas Oncology in Austin, Texas. This full-time remote position focuses on obtaining pre-certifications and ensuring timely reimbursement for chemotherapy treatments, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role offers exposure to payer guidelines, patient advocacy, and access to medical benefits and 401K plans. Advancement to Sr level is available based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of medical insurance verification and authorization experience (Level 1).
• Clinical review experience preferred for Level Sr.
• Strong knowledge of payer guidelines and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review chemotherapy regimens for medical necessity and pathway adherence.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and pre-certifications for chemotherapy services.
• Communicate with nursing and medical staff regarding insurance restrictions and payer issues.
• Inform physicians and management about documentation gaps and payer denials.
• Update coding/payer guidelines for clinical staff as needed.
• Assist patients with resources and financial assistance information.
• Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
