Job summary

Montana Department of Transportation seeks a Geotech & Pavement Bureau Chief to lead the Geotechnical, Pavement Analysis, and Field Investigation sections. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geotechnical or closely related field.
• 5 years of progressively responsible geotechnical subsurface investigations, engineering analysis, and design.
• 3 years of supervision experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Montana.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Geotech & Pavement Bureau Geotechnical, Pavement Analysis, and Field Investigation sections.
• Lead subsurface investigation planning, laboratory testing, and engineering analysis and design.
• Establish project guidelines, procedures, and technical parameters; supervise investigations and sampling.
• Liaise with MDT Pavement Management to support statewide condition assessment.
• Directly supervise a team of five engineers and technicians.
