Job summary

Purdue for Life Foundation is seeking a Web Developer to build and optimize websites and web apps with a WordPress focus. You will implement backend APIs, databases, and frontend interfaces while collaborating with project managers, writers, and designers.

The role requires strong HTML/CSS/JS skills, experience with WordPress, and knowledge of web performance, accessibility, and UX/UI. Hybrid work is supported, with onsite presence in West Lafayette three days per week.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript with frameworks/libraries.
• Experience in WordPress development and APIs integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performing websites and web apps (WordPress focus) with backend APIs and databases.
• Review and optimize functionality, performance, accessibility, scalability, and security.
• Develop data structures, web tools, and programs with cross-browser/mobile compatibility.
• Document development efforts and changes.
• Test and QA to fix bugs and ensure quality.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and standards.
• Stay updated on web standards, UX/UI, and accessibility.
• Collaborate with design for visuals and brand guidelines.
• Analyze website performance and report findings.
• Apply updates and patches; use AI tools to streamline workflows.
