Qualifications

• BSN minimum; 5 years relevant inpatient acute care experience.
• ICU or ED experience preferred.
• Clinical documentation improvement experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Current nursing license in the State of Illinois.
• Certification in clinical documentation improvement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the modifications of clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians and the care team to ensure accurate severity and mortality risk documentation.
• Support timely accurate and complete documentation used for measuring and reporting physician and hospital outcomes.
• Provide ongoing education to the health care team on clinical documentation best practices.
