Job summary

Proliance Surgeons - Orthopedic Specialists of Seattle is seeking an Authorization and Benefits Specialist to manage accounts receivable with a focus on obtaining prior authorizations for procedures. This role supports a hybrid remote work environment after training and requires travel between Wallingford and Ballard offices as needed.

You will coordinate authorizations, verify patient and insurer information, and communicate with patients and providers to ensure timely and accurate billing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Healthcare billing/accts receivable knowledge helpful.
• Medicare experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process medical prior authorizations.
• Triage calls and requests for authorization of services.
• Communicate professionally with patients, clinic staff and vendors.
• Verify and document insurance information per current practices.
• Post payments from patients and insurance companies accurately.
• Review EOBs, research denials and processing adjustments.
• Prepare and submit physician billing to insurers electronically or by paper.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims via calls or emails.
