Job summary

RailWorks Corporation seeks a Regional Controller – East to oversee regional finance, accounting, and controls for Track and Transit Construction. You will supervise division Controllers and staff, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive close processes and project accounting from bidding to completion.

The role requires interaction with auditors, budgeting for the Eastern Region, and leading cross-location finance activities with up to 30% travel and a hybrid schedule in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA a plus.
• 7+ years senior-level finance or accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and financial regulations.
• Cross-border experience in North America preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as SME for site accounting and related issues.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual, and forecast reports.
• Maintains internal controls per policy, GAAP and SOX.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
• Liaises with internal/external auditors.
• Manages month-end close and regional staff.
• Oversees implementation of corporate accounting initiatives.
• Leads annual operating budget for the Eastern Region.
• Evaluates changes to accounting policies and methods.
• Leads regional interview processes and staff evaluations.
