Job summary

STAFFING FISH is seeking a hands-on Regional Controller for a construction and mechanical services company based in Phoenix, AZ. The role oversees accounting across multiple locations, leads a small team, and drives integration of acquired entities onto common processes.

You will own month-end close, WIP/CIP, and revenue recognition, with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote). 6+ years of experience and a BA/Finance degree are required; CPA is a plus. Salary range: $130,000–$155,000.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience at controller or assistant controller level.
• Hands-on WIP/CIP and BIE/CIE experience.
• Excellent leadership and staff development abilities.
• Proven track record clearing backlog and bringing books current in a fast-paced environment.
• Multi-entity or multi-location experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead full month-end close for assigned locations with reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Own the WIP process and coordinate between accounting and operations on open questions and final completion.
• Manage WIP/CIP, BIE/CIE schedules and related reporting.
• Lead cleanup across newly acquired and integrated entities and bring books current.
• Partner with operations on revenue recognition, job costing, and change orders.
• Develop and mentor senior accountants to improve technical skills and broader perspective.
