Job summary

The Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Refugee Employment Services (RES) Operations Specialist. This on-call, hourly position supports the RES Coordinator with clerical tasks, data management, and program administration to help refugees access employment services.

Hybrid schedule with on-site work at IRCO Main Office. Requires English fluency and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of office support experience.
• Professional customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
• Ability to type 40 words per minute.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Outgoing, personable, creative, and able to work in a multicultural, multilingual environment.
• Excellent writing and language skills.
• Able to prepare reports, forms, organizational charts, spreadsheets, and related materials.

Responsibilities

• Track completion of program steps from referral to case closure.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely assignments across team.
• Manage and input data in Apricot360 with confidentiality.
• Review immigration documents to determine eligibility.
• Assign cases based on caseload, language skills, and ethnicity.
• Communicate with workforce specialists about client needs and updates.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and spreadsheet materials for leadership and funders.
• Assist in developing program materials and resources.
