Job summary

City of Portland is seeking a Real Estate Agreements Specialist within the Public Works Service Area, Real Estate Team, to lead drafting and negotiation of a variety of real estate agreements. The role requires autonomy in managing projects, conducting extensive real estate research, and ensuring DEI considerations are at the forefront of all property transactions.

Qualifications

2+ years independently drafting and negotiating accurate legal documents (leases, licenses, easements, intergovernmental agreements, etc.).
Experience building relationships with diverse community stakeholders while incorporating anti-racist and DEI considerations.
Ability to intake, analyze, and coordinate agreement-related items (work orders, contract interpretation, property improvements).
Experience handling complex, politically sensitive negotiations with government entities and officials.
Ability to research, analyze, and generate written reports on real estate issues, laws, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of real estate documents and related reports.
Ensure anti-racism, equity, and transparency are prioritized in property transactions.
Research and analyze real estate issues, ownership, land use, and relevant laws.
Coordinate agreement items such as work orders and contract interpretations for tenants.
Collaborate with regional agencies, community advocates, partner groups, and City bureaus.
