Job summary

Compeer Financial is hiring for a Closing Agent who will manage real estate secured transactions from opening to closing, ensuring compliance with lending laws and internal policies.

You will coordinate title commitments, appraisals and flood determinations, review deeds and liens, and prepare settlement statements to ensure accurate disbursements while supporting loan servicing across business units. Hybrid work option offered.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, legal, agriculture or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Closing Agent License; Insurance Producer License preferred (or ability to obtain within twelve months).
• Commissioned Notary Public for the state (or ability to obtain within three months).
• Working knowledge of loan approval processes, real estate, legal and title insurance.
• Working knowledge of legal descriptions and collateral documents to gather information for document preparation.
• Basic accounting and mathematical skills to calculate data, reconcile funds and determine payoffs.

Responsibilities

• Process, close, fund and service transactions secured by real estate properties in compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate title commitments, appraisals and flood zone determinations with internal/external teams.
• Review title insurance commitments, deeds and related documents to confirm lien positions.
• Create or review settlement statements and disbursement agreements to ensure accurate funds.
• Coordinate on-site and off-site closings and obtain signatures; may perform witness closings.
• Work with Legal and Title Review teams on collateral documents as needed.
• Assist Lending Client Coordinators and other teams to service client relationships and loan files.
