Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Junior Python AI Developer to build, deploy, and optimize AI agents in production environments. You will collaborate with senior engineers and customers to deliver intelligent automation using ADK and Python in a hybrid role (3 days onsite in Sunnyvale, CA).

You'll contribute to designing agent workflows, integrating systems via REST APIs, and improving performance while growing your expertise in MCP and RAG pipelines and cloud-based deployments.

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years in software engineering or related technical role.
• Solid Python production coding skills (OOP, error handling, logging, testing).
• Production hands-on experience building AI agents using ADK (1+ years).
• Experience integrating systems via REST APIs, JSON, authentication methods.
• Understanding of prompts, context management, tool usage for LLMs.
• Clear technical communication and ownership of tasks.
• Exposure to MCP or RAG pipelines and vector databases is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), Docker, or CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build & Deploy AI Agents: design, develop, test, and ship agent workflows using ADK and Python in production environments.
• Develop Integrations: connect the platform with customer systems, databases, and cloud services using Python and REST APIs.
• Test & Improve Performance: evaluate agent behavior and iterate on code/configuration to improve reliability.
• Troubleshoot Issues: debug integration, data, configuration, and agent-behavior problems across environments.
• Collaborate with Customers & Teams: participate in technical discussions, document requirements, translate business needs into tasks.
• Grow with Emerging AI Tech: build hands-on expertise in AI agents, with exposure to MCP and RAG pipelines.
