Job summary

SHI International Corp. is seeking an Applied AI engineer to join its team.

You will design and develop Python-based services, APIs, and AI-enabled applications that solve real business problems across cloud and on‑prem environments. You’ll work with data from enterprise systems, integrate AI capabilities using prompt orchestration, RAG, and agents, and contribute across the full stack, including React UIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience building APIs, backend services, and data-centric applications.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with React or another modern web framework.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development, containers, source control, and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Python-based services, APIs, and AI-enabled applications.
• Build applications that process and present data from enterprise systems and external services.
• Integrate AI capabilities into production software using prompt orchestration, RAG, tool use, and agent-based workflows.
• Design architectures that balance scalability, maintainability, security, and performance.
• Implement authentication and authorization patterns across app and API layers.
• Contribute across the full stack, including React-based UIs and data integration.
• Work with technologies across Microsoft, Google, NVIDIA, and broader AI ecosystems.
