Job summary

Penguin Random House is seeking a Publishing Assistant for WaterBrook Children's, a Hybrid role supporting the Publishing Director and the division's publishing programs.

The position emphasizes organization, proactive communication, and cross-department collaboration within a busy publishing team, with opportunities to contribute to editorial, design, marketing, publicity, and other workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience in publishing or editorial environment preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Interest in children's books, especially Christian market.
• Proactive, detail-oriented self-starter.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for Publishing Director and staff.
• Maintain schedules and due dates for titles and pipelines.
• Assist with title lists and imprint initiatives.
• Coordinate with departments to facilitate the bookmaking process.
• Communicate with authors and agents for updates as appropriate.
• Provide editorial feedback and assist acquisitions as needed.
• Assist copywriting for jacket, metadata, and marketing copy.
• Research for special projects and presentations.
