Job summary

Jefferson County, Colorado is seeking a passionate attorney to perform a variety of legal work for the Human Services team. This role handles child abuse/neglect investigations and proceedings, juvenile delinquency matters, adult protection, mental health cases, public assistance, liquor license prosecutions, civil collections, child support services, records requests, and subpoenas.

Qualifications

Requires JD or LLB from an accredited law school.
A minimum of two years' experience of litigation is preferred.
Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado; must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of Colorado.
A writing sample is required and must be attached to be considered; appellate writing samples preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of legal work for the Human Services team.
Provide legal representation and advice on child abuse/neglect investigations and proceedings, juvenile delinquency matters, and adult protection cases.
Handle mental health cases, drug and alcohol commitments, and public assistance applications and appeals.
Assist with liquor license prosecutions, civil collections, child support services, records requests, and subpoenas.
Work independently in a fast-paced, collegial environment with county clients and agencies.
