Jefferson County seeks a passionate attorney to perform a variety of legal work for the Human Services team. This team provides legal representation and advice concerning child abuse and/or neglect investigations, dependency and neglect proceedings and appeals, juvenile delinquency matters, adult protection investigations and proceedings, mental health cases, drug and alcohol commitments, public assistance applications and appeals, liquor license violation prosecutions, civil collections, child support services, records requests and subpoenas.
To be successful in this position, the Assistant County Attorney must be detail-oriented, have good organizational and negotiation skills, the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and establish and maintain working relationships with clients and co-workers.
The Assistant County Attorney will work independently in a technologically advanced, fast-paced, sophisticated, and collegial work environment in our office with county clients and agencies, elected officials, and the public.
The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office consists of 50 attorneys and staff members who work collaboratively to provide a full-range of legal services to Jefferson County.
The County Attorney’s Office provides flexibility in creating a hybrid work schedule, with both in-office and remote work opportunities that promote work-life balance.
This full-time position operates on a standard work week (Monday-Friday). This position offers the opportunity for remote work on some days of the week.
The anticipated hiring range at Associate level is $130,000 - $140,000 Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills, as well as the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and budgetary considerations.
