Job summary

Extra Special Parents (ESP) in Virginia seeks a Clinical and Family Services Specialist to ensure licensed foster families meet standards and complete recertifications on time. This is a part-time role approximately 20 hours per week, with residence in Virginia and a focus on quality of care.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule, mileage reimbursement, a 401(k) match, and opportunities for professional growth while supporting foster children and families across the Commonwealth.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure; meet deadlines; set priorities; and handle difficult individuals.
• Knowledge of the Therapeutic Community model and Trauma-Informed Care.
• Ability to observe, assess, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Ability to complete training required by licensing standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise foster parents and clients to ensure quality-of-care per TFC level.
• Assess placed clients by reviewing records, talking to agencies, and communicating with families.
• Administer written assessments per LCPA standards and company procedures.
• Develop ISP, Comprehensive and Quarterly Service Plans to meet state regs.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings such as court hearings, FAPT, or school meetings.
• Plan and implement therapeutic activities to achieve treatment goals.
• Provide continuity for clients transitioning to various living arrangements; include home visits and referrals.
• Maintain client charts and document observations, progress, and concerns.
• Provide transportation for clients when needed.
• Complete Recertification Studies and Quarterly Facility Checklists for licensed families.
• Maintain family charts and communicate concerns to on-call workers.
• Complete new admissions and home studies as assigned.
