Job summary

Aviva Canada is hiring for National Property Claims Adjusters in a hybrid role. You will settle claims via telephone, work with premier property vendors, and focus on quality customer service while applying cost-saving guidelines. Training is provided even if you lack a background in insurance.

Expect rotating 8:00 AM–8:00 PM shifts Mon–Fri with some Saturdays as needed. The role emphasizes attention to coverage, FNOL, data accuracy, and timely communications with customers and vendors.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years claims insurance experience or insurance call center or customer service experience
• Fast-paced environment experience to support customer demand
• Strong customer service background
• Excellent computer and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Bilingualism in English and French is a big asset
• Knowledge of Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean & Punjabi is a big asset
• Licenses for claims adjusting in any provinces is a big asset

Responsibilities

• Support claims customer demand through a call-center environment
• Investigate and negotiate property claims per Aviva procedures
• Confirm coverage and compile FNOL information for incoming claims
• Ensure data accuracy and issue payments to vendors and insureds
• Review facts and reports, analyze estimates and negotiate settlements
• Advise customers on claim status with excellent service
• Prepare correspondence including Critical Path, Proof of Loss, and rights letters
• Identify questionable claims, subrogation and risk opportunities
• Review case law to determine liability
• Meet individual and team performance expectations
• Adhere to attendance policies
