Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation in Salem is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor 1 – Project Surveyor to join the Engineering Automation Section. You will support and promote standards for right of way mapping and legal descriptions on conveyance documents.

ODOT offers a safe, hybrid work environment with occasional travel. A valid PLS license and CAD skills are required; we encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply and contribute to our programs.

Qualifications

• Valid PLS license is required.
• Experience using CADD software.
• Experience writing and reviewing right of way descriptions and sketches.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with agency staff to determine work limits and deliverables.
• Prepare complex right of way drawings and legal property descriptions.
• Ensure drawings conform to division standards and state laws.
• Train staff on division standards for right of way mapping.
