Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Project Manager for North America to lead PEC projects at customer facilities, coordinating mechanical, controls, and chemical engineering disciplines while maintaining proactive customer relationships.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and risks, act as the primary customer contact, and support sales with technical proposals. This role is hybrid with 3 days in-office and requires 25–50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Pulp & Paper Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of proven project management experience.
• Willingness to travel 25–50%.
• Hybrid work schedule with 3 days/week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Be the main contact with the customer for the full scope.
• Establish and maintain proactive customer relationships throughout project execution.
• Define the project organization and identify resource needs in a matrix environment.
• Perform active project and product risk and opportunity management.
• Responsible for main project schedule and coordination of schedules.
• Manage project budgets to secure and improve project margins.
• Be a role model in the project teams regarding HSEQ matters.
• Handle warranty issues during the contractual warranty period.
• Communicate project feedback internally and summarize lessons learned.
• Manage project stakeholders communications and reporting.
• Support sales on technical proposal development from the Project Management perspective, securing project deliverability.
