Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support electric utility capital projects across transmission, distribution, substation, and related infrastructure. You will assist with planning, governance, scheduling, and execution while coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

The role emphasizes project controls, reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience supporting utility, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or capital projects.
• Experience in regulated utility, consulting, engineering, or infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of project management fundamentals and lifecycle delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in planning and executing utility capital projects from initiation through closeout.
• Assist with project setup, governance documentation, scheduling and execution planning.
• Coordinate meetings, track actions, and support timely delivery of project milestones.
• Maintain project logs, risk registers and governance records.
• Contribute to dashboard development and performance reporting using Excel and Power BI.
