Job summary

Bancroft Construction Services is seeking a Project Engineer to support environmental construction projects in Southern California. This hybrid role blends office planning with regular field site visits and travel to active projects, coordinating with PMs, engineers, and environmental professionals to ensure design, regulatory, safety, and client requirements.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in construction or environmental roles and a degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in construction, environmental restoration, or related engineering roles.
• Experience with Environmental Compliance (SWPPP / Stormwater, Biological and Cultural Monitoring)
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance requirements (CEQA/NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act preferred)
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in construction management software, MS Office Suite, and CAD (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction and environmental restoration projects.
• Review project designs, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project requirements.
• Support field operations by providing technical guidance, tracking progress, and addressing design or environmental challenges.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, permits, and compliance reports.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to maintain alignment on project goals.
• Track budgets, schedules, and materials to support timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on technical and environmental aspects.
