Job summary

Bancroft Construction Services is seeking a hands-on Project Manager for land development and environmental restoration projects in Southern California. You will own projects from pursuit through closeout, managing budgets, schedules, client relationships, and field execution.

The role requires leadership to build practical processes, partner with teams, and travel approximately 50% to active sites. Hybrid office/field work in SoCal is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, land development, or environmental restoration.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% to Southern California project sites.

Responsibilities

• Own projects from pursuit to closeout, including land development, site improvements, and environmental restoration.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, resource allocation, and cost controls.
• Coordinate pre-construction activities including permitting, contractor selection, subcontractor coordination, and project planning.
• Coordinate pursuit-to-project handoff and take direct responsibility for decisions across office, client, and field activities.
• Oversee construction activities through regular site visits, ensuring compliance with design plans, safety, and environmental permit conditions.
• Create and improve project workflows, documentation, and coordination processes when formal systems are not in place.
• Build and maintain direct client relationships as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
• Monitor progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Review contractor submittals, change orders, invoices, and progress reports.
• Ensure environmental compliance requirements are integrated into activities and schedules.
• Lead field visits and progress meetings; resolve issues with crews and stakeholders.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, and closeout materials.
• Identify and pursue project opportunities and support client development and repeat business.
