Job summary

Brose North America Inc. in Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a procurement specialist to manage cost-focused sourcing for high-dollar components. You will obtain quotations from NA suppliers and perform cost/value analyses in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in purchasing, with SAP and strong negotiation skills. You’ll support production through change management and lead RFQ processes through SOP and launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• 3–5 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Experience with cost breakdown analysis and BOM.
• Knowledge of supply chain principles (JIT, JIS, Kanban).
• Understanding of international movement of goods and import/export processes.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and PM skills.
• Experience with SAP.

Responsibilities

• Support special project sourcing strategies for high-dollar components with long-term suppliers.
• Obtain cost- and quality-competitive quotations from the North American market.
• Perform cost and value analyses with other departments and product teams.
• Investigate opportunities for material substitution and alternate manufacturing processes.
• Support production through change management and economical improvements.
• Identify and document cost avoidance during project launches.
• Assist customer teams with purchasing during the project lifecycle.
• Issue RFQs before SOP, including engineering changes during launch and current production.
• Consolidate supplier proposals and establish target pricing with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in supplier selection activities within North America with Commodity Buyers.
