Job summary

A.O. Smith Corp. is seeking a Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer to perform advanced engineering tasks and mentor the design team through the full development cycle.

You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with cross-functional groups across design, production, and quality to deliver projects on time and within budget. The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with SAP/MRP, Lean techniques, and CAE tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of related work experience.
• Six Sigma or FMEA experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP and MRP systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Participate in industry groups.
• Perform advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision.
• Oversee all aspects of a significant engineering project from start to finish.
• Develop action plans and estimate resources (management, labor, materials, time).
• Prepare monthly reports detailing progress and costs for top management.
• Use CAE tools such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Minitab, CFD, FEA.
• Lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development.
• Conduct project meetings and report status to stakeholders.
• Finish projects within schedule and budget, coordinating activities.
