The role requires a BS in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering and 3+ years of engineering experience. GD&T reading, lean/Six Sigma, and strong communication in cross-functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering required.
• 3+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience.
• Working knowledge of GD&T on engineering drawings.
• Strong cross-functional communication and teamwork.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of Gears and related Round Parts manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs in Michigan.
• Utilize machining process knowledge to deliver efficient and optimized processes regarding quality, costs, timing, and footprint.
• Support equipment installation, power on, run capability, and handover to powertrain plants.
• Initiate bids, evaluate, recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to place orders.
• Work with OEMs, suppliers, Product, and Plant engineering to resolve issues.
• Coordinate facilities, safety, ergonomics, material handling & kitting, tooling, and gauging.
• Support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis with IE to improve throughput.
• Travel up to 50% in support of projects with OEMs and suppliers.
