Westinghouse Electric Company in New Stanton, PA, seeks a Principal Project Engineer to support design and delivery of multiple plant projects within the Global Instrumentation & Monitoring Systems team. You will act in project management, issue management, and technical leadership roles to drive scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Previous experience on AP1000, APR1400, or AP300 preferred.
• Knowledge of project management principles and a strong desire to work in a technical project management role.
• Cognizance in Integrated Systems Engineering, Instrumentation & Monitoring Systems, Product Development or IV&V.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as projects require (up to 10%).

Responsibilities

• Drive engineering delivery of required scope for RMS, SMS, IIS, Sensors, and TEDEV to support various projects/programs.
• Manage and coordinate project/program requests, including reconciliation into engineering scopes of work.
• Develop, manage, and drive schedule and budget.
• Drive an accurate demand signal to the functional areas and work with Resource Managers to resource load schedules.
• Identify gaps between scope, estimates, schedules, resource availability, and organizational expectations.
• Identify and manage risks and issues, developing and driving recovery plans and escalating when needed.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and develop recovery plans.
• Serve as the lead point of contact for Functional Area Leads and Project Managers.
• Support Resource Manager, Project Managers, and Technical Leads as required.
