Job summary

DTE Energy seeks a seasoned financial analyst to manage complex financial analysis, including financial statement and tax analysis, capital investment decisions, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. This is an individual contributor role with potential project leadership responsibilities.

The position is hybrid with in-person work at an assigned location and may require emergency response duties to support outages or storms affecting customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and seven years of experience in accounting and cost tracking, budgeting, forecasts or variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Establishes multi-year monthly expenditure and cash flow forecasts for all projects.
• Models capital investment and acquisition impacts and orchestrates the capital investment process.
• Prepares financial statements, variance analyses and other financial reports for all projects.
• Prepares consolidated reporting for major projects and integrates reports with other project cost reports.
• Develops business plans and ensures scope/cost changes are reflected in forecasts.
• Works with field and project management to prepare budgets and forecasts and records accounting transactions.
• Researches accounting issues and implements related policies and procedures.
• Facilitates process improvements and cost management opportunities.
• Creates a positive working environment, including training and development.
• May lead projects or project teams and provide guidance to staff; may participate in performance evaluations.
• May require FERC gas training.
