Job summary

Xenon Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Principal Engineer, Enterprise Data Integration to lead the design, implementation, and operation of Xenon’s enterprise integration, middleware, and data engineering capabilities. This role partners across IT, Commercial, Medical, Finance, and R&D to establish scalable, secure data flows across the analytics ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in enterprise integration and data engineering.
• Experience with regulated industries (Life Sciences/pharma) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation and maturation of Xenon’s enterprise integration and data engineering capabilities.
• Partner with IT and business leaders to define an enterprise integration roadmap.
• Evaluate, select, implement, and govern integration and ELT platforms (Informatica, Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure, Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake).
• Design and oversee integrations between ERP, CRM, data warehouse, LIMS, EDC, and other systems.
• Establish data contracts, interface specs, and monitoring practices.
• Lead data governance, master data management, data quality, and lineage initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership for data models, ELT transformations, and gold datasets.
• Ensure controls for GxP, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11; auditability and access controls.
• Develop and manage support models with partners and service providers.
• Oversee regulatory/compliance deliverables related to CSA, SDLC, and risk assessments.
