Job summary

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services is seeking a Presumptive Eligibility Social Service Supervisor-Social Service Specialist 5 to lead a dedicated PE team within the Home and Community Services division.

The role oversees PE services for elderly and disabled populations, guiding assessments, service planning and staff coaching. It supports hybrid telework with in-office hours as needed and emphasizes quality assurance and inter-agency coordination.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 4, OR two years as Social Service Specialist 3, OR four years as Social Service Specialist 2.
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in social services or related field with relevant paid social service experience.
• A combination of higher education and paid social service experience totaling at least nine years.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff who process Long Term Care, Medicaid Transformation Demonstration Programs and Presumptive Eligibility Services.
• Coordinate Presumptive Eligibility services with PE staff and other HCS teams.
• Set expectations, train staff and monitor performance; take corrective action when needed.
• Advise on assessment/intervention techniques and resources for clients.
• Audit case files to ensure quality standards and service delivery.
• Coordinate with Area Agencies on Aging and other teams; conduct regular staff trainings.
