Job summary

Scripps Research Translational Institute in La Jolla, CA, invites a Postdoctoral Associate to join the Mravic Laboratory. The role blends computational design with experimental work to engineer proteins and peptides that function within cellular lipid membranes.

The successful candidate will have experience in membrane protein biochemistry, molecular modeling and protein design, and a strong interest in cryo-EM, AI/ML, and related techniques.

Qualifications

• Must possess a doctoral degree in cell biology, genetics, neurobiology, molecular biology, biophysics, or related field.
• Experience with cryo-EM, AI/machine learning, cell signaling assays, and/or protein engineering screening or selections desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop de novo design and protein engineering approaches to modulate membrane proteins.
• Conduct hybrid computational-experimental work in the Mravic Laboratory.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance translational research goals.
