Job summary

CASES is hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in The Bronx, NY, to join the FACT team and deliver high-quality psychiatric care to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.

You will conduct evaluations, prescribe medications, coordinate care with nursing and other providers, and ensure compliance with OMH, DOHMH, and Medicaid guidelines while maintaining compassionate, recovery-oriented practice.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the NYS Education Department.
• Board certification by The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Extensive experience working with adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
• Excellent written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and monthly assessments.
• Prescribe medications and educate patients on meds and side effects.
• Coordinate medication management with FACT nursing staff and order tests when indicated.
• Complete assessments, progress notes, and required documentation per OMH/DOHMH and Medicaid rules.
• Coordinate care with hospitals, housing providers, and other community services.

Skills

Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Pract. NYS

AANP/ANCC board certification

Experience with adults with SMI

Excellent written & verbal skills
