Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to design building plumbing systems and produce BIM for commercial, residential, and institutional projects. You will work in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment with opportunities across offices in Chicago and Greenwood Village.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with Plumbing emphasis and 3–5 years’ experience, plus proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Hybrid work option and travel up to 10% are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with Plumbing emphasis.
• 3 to 5 years of plumbing and piping system engineering and design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit BIM software.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems and produce plumbing construction documents for commercial, residential, mixed-use, and institutional projects.
• Perform plumbing engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection, system layout and coordination.
• Read and interpret construction documents, floor plans, specifications and equipment details.
• Produce drawings and BIM for plumbing systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and write specifications/reports.
