Job summary

Fisher Associates in Buffalo, NY seeks an experienced Project Manager II – Planning to lead multidisciplinary planning and placemaking assignments for public- and private-sector clients. You will guide projects from pursuit through completion, coordinating technical teams and client relationships.

You will influence projects at strategic and implementation levels, facilitate community conversations, develop scopes, pursue new work, and mentor junior staff in a flexible, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning or related field.
• 8-12 years of planning/urban design experience.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience with municipal/public-sector clients.
• Strong knowledge of land use and zoning.
• Experience with public engagement and presentations.
• AICP certification.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, placemaking, and community design projects from proposal through completion.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Serve as primary project contact for assigned clients while managing expectations and risks.
• Lead land-use, zoning, and urban design studies and related recommendations.
• Engage stakeholders through meetings, workshops, and presentations.
• Develop client relationships and pursue new opportunities, RFQs, and proposals.
