Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Claims Specialist in Illinois to analyze Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Med-Pay No Fault claims, determine benefits, and adjudicate high-exposure cases. You will collaborate with claimants, policyholders, providers and attorneys throughout the claims lifecycle.

Role offers training to enhance skills, with the option of a hybrid in-office schedule for collaboration while enabling focused remote work on complex investigations and settlements.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in claims adjustment or general insurance.
• Required to obtain and maintain all applicable licenses; professional certifications preferred (AEI, IIA, CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of claims.
• Establishes action plan based on case facts, best practices, protocols, regulatory issues and available resources.
• Plans and conduct investigations of claims to confirm coverage and eligibility to medically manage the claims through resolution.
• Assesses policy coverage for submitted claims and notifies the insured of any issues; determines reserve requirements and adjusts reserves as necessary.
• Assesses actual damages and negotiates to settle claims within authority.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
