Independent Health is seeking a Billing Specialist to support pharmacy operations, handling billing for pharmacy and medical claims and adjudicating rejections. The role acts as a liaison between patients and insurance companies, doctors, and staff, ensuring accuracy and timely billing in a hybrid Williamsville setting.

You will collaborate with payors, assist with portal management and patient registrations, and coordinate financial assistance options when applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• One year of experience in a high-volume pharmacy or six months in Reliance Rx Operations & Compliance.
• Experience with online claims processing systems preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Bundle: bill pharmacy and medical claims and adjudicate rejections.
• Serve as liaison between patients, insurance payors, doctors, and staff.
• Resolve billing issues with payors and ensure timely delivery promises.
• Process deliveries to medical offices; manage patient registrations and portal tasks.
• Coordinate financial assistance and copay programs when applicable.
• Assist other staff with calls, record keeping, and data entry.
