Job summary

Boston University is seeking a Payroll Analyst in the Comptroller's Office to support remittances, reconciliations, and reporting of payroll withholdings. The role will report to the Associate Director of Payroll Tax and Reporting and focus on accuracy and compliance in tax payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small, collegial team environment.
• 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a university or payroll management capacity.
• Intermediate Excel skills for complex data analysis.
• Experience analyzing data to draw conclusions and inform management.
• Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize routine and ad-hoc requests.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and accurate in work output.
• Self-motivated and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT to implement and test system updates related to taxation and support year-end W2 process.
• Create and generate reports related to union dues deductions, wages, and other topics as needed.
• Serve as a backup to the Senior Payroll Tax Administrator for evaluating tax status of foreign national employees.
