Job summary

Rightmove PLC is seeking an experienced Payroll Executive to join our Finance Team. You’ll deliver accurate, timely monthly payroll across two UK PAYE schemes for around 1,000 employees, while ensuring compliance and effective controls.

This hands-on role requires in-house payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of UK payroll legislation. You’ll work with People and Finance teams, support year-end activities, and look for improvements to payroll processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in an in-house payroll environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation: PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, statutory payments.
• Excellent Excel skills: formulas, lookups, pivot tables.
• Ability to explain payroll issues clearly to employees and managers.
• Experience with payroll month-end, year-end processes and payroll journals.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll changes across the employee lifecycle.
• Perform manual payroll calculations, reconciliations, and payment file preparation.
• Manage pension administration and auto-enrolment arrangements.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers.
• Submit payroll data to HMRC and maintain confidential payroll records.
• Collaborate with People, Finance and other teams to resolve issues.
• Support year-end activities, audits and reporting; drive process improvements.
• Post payroll payments and journals; assist with month-end reconciliations.
