Job summary

Howard Hanna is seeking an entry-level Payroll Specialist in Pittsburgh with training provided. You will process semi-monthly multi-state payroll and ensure data accuracy, while maintaining confidential employee information.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with the Payroll Supervisor and HR team, gaining exposure to ADP reporting and payroll processes, with a hybrid in-office schedule at the Pittsburgh location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in accounting, business or related discipline.
• Entry-level role with training provided.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Familiarity with ADP and payroll processes.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent MS Word and Excel skills.
• Good judgment and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of payroll data.
• Process semi-monthly payrolls; update and maintain payroll records including salary changes, wage garnishments, benefit deductions, payroll taxing, vacation/PTO accruals.
• Collect non-exempt time cards weekly and follow up on time card discrepancies.
• Work closely with Payroll Supervisor to resolve payroll and time & attendance issues.
• Support payroll & HR team in producing and creating reports from ADP as required.
• Act as back-up for other payroll specialists as needed.
