Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations from our Sunbury, PA location. The role oversees salaried and hourly payroll across multiple pay groups, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years in a payroll department including 2 years in a leadership role.
• 2+ years of experience with Workday Payroll preferred, or combination of PeopleSoft and Workday Payroll.
• Certifications such as CPP or FPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried and hourly associates across multiple pay groups and locations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and reporting requirements.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, reconciliations, W-2s, and year-end processing.
• Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance, policies and guidelines.
• Prepare and analyze ad-hoc payroll reports; collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and Operations.
• Coach and develop payroll staff; partner with systems vendors for enhancements and testing.
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audits with prepared schedules and documentation.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for payroll cycles and year-end activities.
