Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a Processing Technician in the Transportation department for payroll processing and budget reporting. The role supports time sheets, leave requests, and data reporting in a hybrid telework setting with regular office duties.

The position requires strong Excel/Word skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with deadlines. Experience with Oracle applications is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Three years of experience in a business field or payroll related work.
• Experience with Oracle business applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for Transportation staff and ensure time sheet accuracy.
• Maintain up-to-date budget records and report transportation costs.
• Prepare reports using Office and other tools to support payroll processing.
• Manage office supply inventory and perform general clerical duties.
• Respond to inquiries from employees and administrators about leave and pay.
• Participate in team meetings and assist with departmental tasks.
• Assist with data analysis and payroll-related reporting.
