Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Payroll Analyst in Seattle, WA to join a transforming payroll platform (UKG). This hands-on role combines payroll expertise with operational analytics in a fast-moving construction environment.

You will handle complex payroll questions, validate calculations, and drive continuous improvement by updating SOPs and collaborating with senior analysts. Local candidates only.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of payroll analyst experience, construction industry a plus.
• Experience with payroll compliance, garnishment administration, wage and hour law, multi-state and state-specific tax rules, and CBA-driven pay calculations.
• Accounting/Business degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Serve as frontline resource for complex employee payroll questions.
• Review in-cycle and post-cycle calculations and prepare weekly summaries.
• Validate data integrity across payroll and HR applications daily.
• Document and improve payroll SOPs with Senior Analysts.
• Support year-end close including W-2 and 941 reconciliations.
