Job summary

Harness IP & Pierce PLC in Herndon, VA seeks a Patent Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of experience and a technical background in electrical engineering to join our hybrid office. You will review matters, draft and analyze legal documents, conduct thorough patent research, provide opinions, negotiate with clients, and support IP strategy and prosecution.

Candidates must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited school and be admitted to the DC or VA bar, with strong writing, research, and

Qualifications

J.D. degree from ABA-accredited law school.
Admission to the DC and/or VA state bar.
Electrical engineering degree (required).
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple matters.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze newly assigned and existing matters from initiation to conclusion.
Draft, review, and finalize legal documents in accordance with Firm procedures.
Conduct thorough legal research using all available resources, including legal databases and libraries.
Provide well-founded legal opinions and strategic counsel to clients.
Conduct negotiations to effectively resolve client matters.
