Diamond Personnel is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. The role supports a high-caliber IP practice across multiple major U.S.

markets, including Atlanta, DC, SF, and NYC. The position offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote) and involves protecting innovations spanning cloud computing, AI, autonomous vehicles, electronics, and security.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science (or the equivalent) and USPTO registration are required.
• Programming background or a working understanding of software coding, with a preference for AI experience.
• Strong academic records, developed analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.
• A detail-oriented approach with a collaborative attitude and willingness to take immediate responsibility.

Responsibilities

Our client, a highly respected IP law firm, is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.

Location: Atlanta, Washington DC, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, San Diego, New York, Houston, Chicago, Austin

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days remote)

Billable Hours: 1800

Responsibilities:

• The individual will join a sophisticated practice that advises clients on the development and expansion of their IP portfolios
• Identifying and protecting innovation related to cloud computing, machine learning/artificial intelligence, digital image processing, wireless communications and standards, autonomous vehicle technologies, automotive electrical systems, network and device security, augmented reality, mobility, consumer electronics, e-commerce, optics, wireless charging, and energy management.
• Help protect the innovations and have extensive interaction with a variety of clients including Fortune 100 companies, technology sector leaders, emerging companies, and universities.

Qualifications:

• Three or more years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineer or computer science (or the equivalent) and USPTO registration are required.
• Skills and knowledge related to preparing patent applications for submission to the USPTO and responding to office actions from the USPTO and other patent offices.
• A programing background or a working understanding of software coding, with a preference for experience with artificial intelligence.
• Strong academic records, developed analytical skills, and impressive communication abilities.
• A detail-oriented approach, the ability to assume immediate responsibility for matters in an active practice, a collaborative outlook, and confidence.
