Job summary

Ballard Spahr is seeking a Paralegal in the Finance department to support lawyers with closing multifamily real estate financings. You will review title, survey, and zoning documents, prepare closing checklists, and manage due diligence and filings. Hybrid schedule with three days per week in Baltimore, Minneapolis, or Washington, D.C.

offices. Ideal candidates have commercial real estate experience with law firms or title companies, and a college degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing title, survey, and zoning documents, coordinating with title companies, surveyors, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and secure final title policies.
• Preparation and tracking of legal closing checklists.
• Organizing, tracking, and reviewing due diligence documents, including property level due diligence and organizational documents.
• Preparing summaries of due diligence documents, including drafting full abstracts of complicated agreements.
• Drafting routine and more complex transaction documents.
• Ordering, tracking, and reviewing legal searches from third-party vendors and summarizing issues; preparing and filing UCCs and other filings.
